A number of women in Italy say they prefer to wear black when they go out in public, citing a desire to look more “black than white.”
A number of popular fashion magazines have recently published articles about the trend, and the trend has been gaining popularity online.
A recent poll in Italy found that 40 percent of women surveyed said they prefer wearing black in public to white.
A similar poll in France showed that only 23 percent of French women would wear black clothing in public.
A study published in The Journal of Evolutionary Psychology last year found that black people are more likely to experience depression.
Researchers also found that women who are more emotionally open are more successful at meeting the needs of their partner.
Italian women are also increasingly accepting of black culture, having been praised by social media users for their “black chic”.
Italian fashion website Cosmo has also started to use black as a colour in its clothing and has used the word “black” in the titles of its new collections.
Many of the women interviewed for the Cosmo article said they had worn black before, but never in public settings.
“We don’t really see it as a black thing,” one of the models told the magazine.
“We think it’s more black than white.
I don’t think it can be a black or white thing.”
